This bespoke residential lighting project in London was conceived in close collaboration with Seema Barot, Founder of Mantra Design London. Known for her high-end, detail-driven interiors, Seema’s design philosophy centers on creating spaces that nurture wellbeing through balance, atmosphere, and thoughtful materiality. As creative lead, she directed the overall vision, ensuring that each lighting element formed an integral part of the home’s emotional and architectural language.
The project began with a carefully curated narrative of inspiration imagery, tonal palettes, and spatial studies, clearly defining the intended mood for each area of the home. The brief was to design a refined yet deeply relaxed environment for a young couple — a sanctuary that would feel calm, intimate, and welcoming, supporting both everyday living and gatherings with family and friends.
From concept development through to installation, detailed CAD drawings were produced and meticulously refined. Proportion, scale, and placement were carefully considered across multiple design iterations. Extensive exploration of metal finishes, glass tones, and sculptural form allowed each bespoke lighting piece to evolve with precision, aligning seamlessly with the wider interior concept.
The final scheme embodies a quiet, understated luxury. Rather than overt statement pieces, the lighting introduces depth, softness, and subtle drama. Warm, diffused illumination enhances the material palette and architectural features, creating a tranquil and restorative atmosphere — a home designed not only to be seen, but to be felt.
